Union carbide was the USA company who were responsible for this disaster. The company tried to avoiding every court case there was. They only gave $400 million to Indian charities but it was not enough for the buildings and loss of jobs due to the disaster Union did not give it to them. The disaster grew bigger and a lot of people died. 500,000 people died from toxic gases, 16,000 people died from the gas that was related from the diseases. 8,000 died within 2 weeks. 200 tones of toxic methyl isocyanate gas was released. There is still 425 tons of hazardous waste. The awful conditions will take a long time to waste fix, these conditions have been killing millions of people in India.
